Start with the right project
These controls belong to andrewnakas’s Skate 3 Cleanroom browser build. They do not establish the controls for the Asher project on this site’s homepage.
The table below reflects the input mapping in the Cleanroom browser entry. It is a button reference, not a gameplay or controller compatibility test.
Keyboard controls
| Keyboard input | Controller input | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| W A S D | Left stick | Directional movement and steering input. |
| Arrow keys | Right stick | The stick used for Flick-it input. Timing and direction matter. |
| Space | A | Push. |
| E | B | B button input. |
| Shift | X | X button input. |
| F | Y | Y button input. |
| Z / C | LT / RT | Left and right trigger input. |
| Q / R | LB / RB | Left and right bumper input. |
| Enter | Start | Start button input. |
Button actions can depend on the current game state. We have not verified specific keyboard trick sequences, so this guide does not promise that a particular key combination will land a trick.
Your first inputs
- Open Cleanroom and load the game.
- Click inside the game area so it receives your keyboard input.
- Use Space to push and W A S D for left-stick input.
- Use the arrow keys for right-stick input. Refer to any instructions shown in the current build when learning tricks.
If the page scrolls when you press the arrow keys, click the game area again. If controls still do not respond, reload the game and check its current instructions before changing browser settings.
Using a controller or touch screen
The project uses an Xbox-style input layout, but this site has not tested controller detection, button prompts or controller feel. A documented button mapping does not guarantee that every connected gamepad works.
The browser entry also describes touch controls. Phone and tablet gameplay have not been tested here. Browser WebGPU support and the device’s graphics capabilities can affect whether the game starts at all.
For rooms and invitations, see the separate Cleanroom multiplayer guide. For a different project, use the version comparison.
